Simplified PV array design and installation – installers do not need to match the performance levels of adjacent solar modules in order to optimize the performance of the PV array. Furthermore, for rooftop installations, solar modules can be installed on any available space resulting in ease of design of the PV array compared with a conventional inverter installation. This makes installation, easier, faster and cheaper.

Improved safety – the system is intrinsically safer because high voltage DC wiring is eliminated and the installation does not require specialist DC equipment or practices.

Enhanced monitoring capability – the solar array is monitored at the individual module level making it easy to identify the exact location of performance problems that might occur over the life of the installation. They can then be repaired and the system performance optimized over the life of the installation.

Improved lifetime and reliability – it eliminates the single most common cause of failure in solar PV systems – the string or central inverter. The Enecsys micro inverter converts relatively small amounts of electricity generated by individual solar modules and uses more reliable components. It is designed to last about 25 years, a lifetime equal to a typical solar module.

Optimal energy harvest – it maximizes the power harvested from every solar module by enabling MPPT for each module. Any degradation in the performance of any one module, due to shadows resulting from clouds, other obstructions such as trees, chimneys, equipment, or debris, does not drag down the performance of other modules and therefore has minimal impact on the power harvested from the PV array. This typically results in the improved energy harvest of approximately 5% to 20% from the solar PV system and represents a significant cost advantage.
